The meaning of their name comes from the idea that there's always a new day, or that things always have time to get better. Alternatively, it comes from the idea that even when things seem bad —— or dark —— for their fans, the members of NIGHTFALL will always be there to support them.The name given to their fandom is STARLIGHT, both because it matches thematically, and because their fans are essentially the stars in the sky to the members. The member that came up with the name has never been revealed.

Nightfall (나이트폴), often stylized as NIGHTFALL, is a 5 member South Korean girl group formed under JYP Entertainment. The group currently consists of Mira, Mina, Dino, Nari and Minji.The group debuted in 2019 with the song DALLA DALLA, and quickly rose in popularity. Their debut was met with mixed opinions, however.As of 2022, they're rapidly approaching a new comeback with CHESHIRE, and are well known worldwide. They've recently been on their first world tour!

NIGHTFALL's music pulls inspiration from many places, and they enjoy testing the limits of the genres they experiment with, as well as trying new things whenever the opportunity presents itself to them. Though they're often called weird, they've never much minded.Each of the girls has a distinct style, and though it isn't often spoken about, at least a couple of the members have an interest in making solo music as well, just for the chance to experiment further outside of the confines of the group.
